Synergistic Removal of Formaldehyde from Air by TiO2-BiVO4-RGO Composite Catalyst and Plasma
Formaldehyde is the representative of typical indoor air pollutants(VOCs),which seriously affects human health.TiO2-BiVO4-RGO composite catalyst was prepared by solvothermal method and reduction of graphene oxide by titanium dioxide and bismuth vanadate photocatalyst, combining with plasma to study the removal of formaldehyde. At room temperature, the space velocity was 16500 h-1,the removal rate of formaldehyde was as high as 91.4%,resulting in a strong synergistic effect. The experimental results show that TiO2-BiVO4-RGO composite photocatalyst has high catalytic activity under the action of plasma, indicating that the energy-rich electrons and active free radicals produced by plasma can interact with TiO2-BiVO4-RGO composite photocatalyst to produce a large number of electrons and holes to achieve the oxidative removal of formaldehyde.Under the same conditions, the removal rate of formaldehyde by the combination of TiO2-BiVO4 composite catalyst prepared by solvothermal method and plasma is 87.1%,indicating that the reduction of graphene oxide plays an important role in the removal of formaldehyde.
