Optimization of the Electric Desalting Process for Inferior Crude Oil
To improve the adaptability of the electric desalination unit, various factors were examined, including the type and dosage of emulsion breaker, mixing intensity, temperature of electric stripping, electric field intensity, and number of electrical discharging stages.During the evaluation stage of the static test, optimal process conditions were determined, including an emulsion breaker dosage of 40 μg/g,mixing intensity of 1200 r/min,temperature of electric stripping of 120℃,electric field intensity of 1200 V/cm,and the number of second-stage electrical discharging stages.Based on these process parameters,a pilot stage was commissioned for on-site equipment. The results showed that the salt(NaCl)content in the post-stripping crude oil was reduced to 2.87 mg/L and the water content in the oil was reduced to 0.15%,both of which were within the range of industrial standards.Overall, the successful modification of the Napo-Orete-Lapa blended crude oil by electric desalination technology demonstrates its potential as an effective method for enhancing the adaptability of heavy deteriorated thick oils with high water and salt content.
