Historical Investigation of Cadre Training in the Dongjiang Column During the Anti-Japanese War
After the outbreak of the all-out war,the shortage of military and political cadres in the East Jiang River Guerrilla Force was particularly prominent.Under the wartime environment, the feasibility of importing a large number of cadres from elsewhere was extremely small, and the self-cultivation of military and political cadres was raised to the top of the military's agenda. The training of cadres in the East Jiang River Guerrilla Force was mainly carried out through the opening of training classes, with the focus on the strategic and tactical knowledge of guerrilla warfare and practical exercises. The teaching methods included classroom lectures, group discussions, sand table presentations,self-reflection,and extracurricular group speeches and individual talks, with emphasis on the collective wisdom and advocating mutual teaching and learning between instructors and trainees to achieve common improvement. The main historical experience of the East Jiang River Guerrilla Force's cadre training work included the high regard of the Central Committee and the active participation of the leadership layer, training content closely tied to wartime needs, and the emphasis on training cadres from Hong Kong and overseas Chinese. The cadre training work of the East Jiang River Guerrilla Force laid a solid organizational foundation for the team and promoted the vigorous development of anti-Japanese guerrilla warfare in the East Jiang River region, making an indelible and important contribution to the great victory of the South China War.
