Practice Path of Horticultural Therapy Integrating into College Mental Health Education
Mental health education in colleges and universities faces many challenges.After encoun-tering the mental health problems,there are many college students who refuse to accept psychologi-cal counseling or psychological treatment,and they are not willing to participate in thematic mental health education activities.Those are the most difficult groups to reach in the mental health educa-tion work in colleges and universities.Horticultural therapy is a new psychological therapy that com-bines the horticulture,psychology and education together.It uses plants,plant growing environ-ment,horticultural cultivation and horticultural operation activities as media,which can effectively improve the physical health,enhance the cognitive function,relieve the stress and increase the in-terpersonal connection.The role and advantages of horticultural therapy make it make up for the de-ficiencies of drug therapy and traditional mental health education forms,conform to the age charac-teristics and psychological characteristics of contemporary college students,and can become a new measure of mental health education in colleges and universities in the new era.The concrete imple-mentation path is as follows:it takes the systematic"gardening cultivation"course as the carrier,and takes into account the"dual attributes"of labor and education;the integration of labor education and mental health education is promoted through the"three integration modes"of department inte-gration,discipline integration and learning integration.
