Characterization of slag from gasification of Xinjiang Zhundong coal-water-slurry
In this paper, the heating value, loss on ignition, the particle size, the chemical composition, pore structure,micro-morphology and combustion characteristics of slag from gasification of Xinjiang Zhundong coal-water-slurry were studied. The results show that the heating value and loss on ignition of fine slag were obvious higher than that of coarse slag. The median diameter(d50)of coarse slag and fine slag were 338.98 μm and 126.84 μm.The chemical composition of coarse slag and fine slag are similar, which are SiO2、Al2O3、CaO and Fe2O3.The main phase composition of both coarse slag and fine slag were amorphous silicoaluminate and carbon, which is mixed with quartz, calcite and other cystalline phase. The specific surface area and the average pore size of the fine slag were 202.88 m2/g and 5.56nm,while the specific surface area and the average pore size of the coarse were 85.81 m2/g and 5.68 nm.The results of SEM show that the microstructure of coarse slag were composed of blocky and spherical particles, while the microstructure of the fine slag were composed of dense blocky particles, spherical particles and flocculent particles, which the dense blocky particles and flocculent particles are mainly composed of C element, while spherical particles are mainly composed of silicoaluminate. The results of TGA showed that the combustion weight loss rate of coarse slag and fine slag were 16.81%and 34.74%,the comprehensive combustion characteristics index of coarse slag and fine slag were 7.16×10-8%2/(min·2℃3)and 1.51×10-7%2/(min·2℃3).
