Based on Langacker's construal theory,this paper explored the interpretive process of metaphor translation in the Xi Jinping:The Governance of China.It is found that specificity,focusing,perspective and imagination are all reflected in the metaphor translation,and different translation strategies,methods and skills were employed in metaphor translation due to different ways of construal.Exploring the translator's cognitive process of metaphor translation based on construal theory is helpful to reveal the translator's cognitive mode in the process of metaphor translation,and provide a new cognitive perspective for the translation of metaphors in political discourse.
