The Relationship Between Neuroticism and College Students'Depression:the Mediating Role of Perceived Social Support
To explore the mechanism of the influence of neuroticism and perceived social support on college students'depression,the Neuroticism Scale,Perceived Social Support Questionnaire,and Beck Depression Self-Assessment Scale were used to investigate and study 2016 college students.The results showed that 1.Neuroticism significantly and positively predicted college students'depression;2.Perceived social support significantly and negatively predicted college students'depression;3,Perceived social support negatively mediated the effect of neuroticism on college students'depression,i.e.,neurotic individuals were depressed through inadequate per-ceived social support.This study provides a new perspective for further understanding the formation mechanism of college students'mental health problems.It helps formulate more precise and effective intervention measures to improve college students'mental health and life quality.
