Study on the English Translation of Kong Yiji from the Perspective of Bourdieu's Sociological Theory
The translation of Kong Yiji by Yang Xianyi and Yang Gladys has been widely disseminated in the academic and educa-tional fields of the United States,and has been well received by American scholars,becoming an important embodiment of the ex-cellent traditional Chinese culture going global.Bourdieu's sociological theory focuses on the interaction between social practices and symbolic systems,emphasizing the role of social factors in shaping individual behavior.Starting from the three core concepts of sociological theory,this paper analyzes the influence of social factors on the selection of translation strategies for this translation.It is found that the contemporary background of the translators,the social needs,the publisher's requirements,as well as the cultural capital and habits accumulated during his practice,all influence the selection of translation strategies for Kong Yiji.
