As an important symbol of the Yi nationality's musical culture,the history of the Hulusheng can be traced back to 2,500 years ago,which not only demonstrates the Yi people's unique pursuit of music,but also reflects their superb artistic creation.Through in-depth research into artifacts unearthed from ancient tombs and literature records,this article reveals the central position of the Hulusheng in the ancient Yi aristocratic culture and its trajectory of spreading outwards through the Silk Road.Firstly,the article explores the symbolic significance of the Hulusheng in the traditional stories of Yi nationality,as well as its emotional and cultural value in modern social life.Secondly,at the level of craftsmanship,a comparative analysis of the similarities and differences between the Yi Hulusheng and Hulushengs of other ethnic groups highlights the unique style and exquisite skills of the Yi's Hulusheng making.Thirdly,the article elaborates on the function of the Hulusheng in various Yi's rituals and celebrations,emphasizing its significant symbolic role in culture and religious beliefs.Finally,the artistic characteristics,inheritance and development of Hulusheng dance are discussed and the necessity of preserving and inheriting this traditional art form is emphasized.
