审美何以与目的相关联?——"目的论"思想在古希腊美学中的介入与交融

摘要
"目的论"思想根植于西方本体论哲学的深厚传统.当古希腊的哲学家在面对广袤宇宙产生"惊异"并将目光转向经验事物背后的根据以构建本体论哲学时,"本体"在作为万物之根据的同时俨然也成为万物要与之相符合的终极目的.关于美的本质的思考,也因此在本体论的构建中被赋予了目的性的内涵.诚然,当古希腊哲人剥离出"逻各斯"与"努斯"概念时,目的论基因便已孕育其中.苏格拉底、柏拉图与亚里士多德在目的论基础上探讨美学问题时,目的论在与美学的交融中也逐渐衍生出主客两条基于目的的逻辑线索,这两条目的线索一直隐含在美学的内在结构之中,推动着美学思想的发展,并最终演化为美学形而上学建构的逻辑基石.
Abstract
The idea of"teleology"is rooted in the profound tradition of Western ontological philosophy.When ancient Greek philosophers were struck by the vastness of the universe and turned their attention to the underlying principles of em-pirical things to construct ontological philosophy,"noumenon"became the ultimate purpose to which all things should con-form,while also serving as the basis for all things.The consideration on the essence of beauty has been endowed with a pur-posive connotation in the construction of ontology.Indeed,when the ancient Greek philosophers stripped out the concepts of"logos"and"nous",the teleological gene was already gestated within them.When Socrates,Plato,and Aristotle discussed aesthetic issues based on teleology,the blending of teleology and aesthetics gradually gave rise to two logical threads based on purpose,namely the subject and the object.These two purpose threads have always been implicit in the internal structure of aesthetics,driving the development of aesthetic thought and eventually evolving into the logical foundation of the con-struction of aesthetic metaphysics.
