Effects of Different Photoperiods and Time of 8% Sucrose Induction on Microtuberization of Potato
The synchronized tuberization system of in-vitro single-node cuttings of potato plantlets was used to investigate the effects of photoperiods and time of 8% sucrose induction to tuberization. The experimental results showed that as the days of 8% sucrose induction increasing the percentage of tuberization and average fresh weights of tubes increased gradually (Fig 1,2). 8%sucrose induction of tuberization is not finished in a minute, but had a time accumulative effect. After inducted in TD(total dark) and 8%sucrose different hours the single-node cuttingsware turned to 3% sucrose, TD ,SD(short day), LD(long day) to culture separately, the percentage of tuberization and intensity of induction of tuberization ware record in the 7th day and 14th day separately(Table 1, Fig3,4,5,6)).These results indicated that TD was the best light treatmant. In it the percentage of tuberization was the hightest(Yable 1). 8%sucrose and SD was favourable to induction stolons .There was no tuberization in it, while all the cuttings ware inducted and developed to stolons (Table 1).In LD part cuttings tuberized(Table 1).
