摘要
虚指there的合并位置是生成语法研究争论的焦点之一.高位分析、低位分析、更低位分析以及最低位分析有着不同的立场,面临不同的经验和理论问题.一系列事实说明,虚指there结构并不是统一的语言现象.对虚指there合并位置的探讨应该考虑这种非统一性,以及由此产生的非统一的there合并位置的可能性.
Abstract
The merging position of the expletive there is a matter of controversy in Generative Grammar.Analyses assuming high,low,lower and lowest merging positions for there have different starting points and face different empirical and theoretical problems.A series of facts show that the expletive there construction does not constitute a homogeneous group of linguistic phenomena.The discussion of the merging position of there should be handled with an eye to this non-uniformity and the possibility thereof of non-unified merging positions for there.
