The Agriculturalization and Mongol-Han Integration in the West Liao River Basin Since the Late Qing Dynasty:A Case Study Focused on a Village in Khorchin District
The West Liao River Basinis a typical region of mixed agriculture and animal husbandry in northern China, and also an ethnically mixed region, with close economic and cultural exchanges between ethnic groups. This paper takes a village in Khorchin district as the center of investigation, and provides an in-depth study on the agriculturalization and the Mongol-Han integration in the West Liao River Basin since the Late Qing Dynasty. The transformation of the local mode of production from animal husbandry to agriculture has promoted the development of the"binding"relationship between people and land, between villages and land.At the same time,it also has facilitated the formation of common livelihoods and the convergence of lifestyles between the Mongolian and the Han,showing the development trend of the mutual interdependence and integration between the Mongolian and the Han.
