Boundary Flux and Compatibility of Differences:Observing Exchange and Mutual Learning among Human Civilizations through the Silk Road
The Belt and Road Initiative breaks the traditional"center-periphery"narra-tive model and has the goal of realizing the beautiful vision of exchange and mutual learning among human civilizations and harmonious development under the guidance of the value of a community with a shared future for mankind.Based on the anthropological and ethnological perspective, this paper explores how human civilizations cross the border and achieve inte-gration and symbiosis on the overlapping parts of civilization systems from the Silk Road. The historical context of exchange and mutual learning among human civilizations carried by the Silk Road still exists in the daily life of the people of various ethnic groups along the Silk Road.As a counter-narrative to the"clash of civilizations theory",these living experiences of civilization dialogue, exchange, and mutual learning hold the prospect of compatibility and coexistence among human civilizations.Examining the different and compatible cultural prac-tices of various ethnic groups on the Silk Road can help us pay more attention to and under-stand the historical tradition and internal mechanism of dialogue and integration among civili-zations,and enhance our understanding of the wholeness of human civilization in the direc-tion of"describe the same cultural issues to enhance solidarity".Observing the exchange and mutual learning among human civilizations through the Silk Road, and deeply understanding and explaining the theoretical connotation and practical experience of"people-to-people con-nectivity"is of positive significance to constructing an intellectual discourse system for a community with a shared future for mankind.
