The theory of"the diverse and integrated pattern of the Chinese nation"was proposed by Fei Xiaotong based on years of research experience and achievements.This theory discusses the historical formation,basic connotations,and performance characteristics of the pattern of diversified integration of the Chinese nation,and is considered the core theory for studying the structure of the Chinese nation.It still plays an important role in the current main line of ethnic work——"consolidating the consciousness of community for the Chinese nation".This paper elaborated on the process and content of Fei Xiaotong's theory of"diverse and integrated pattern",and analyzed the role and inspiration of this theory in consolidating the consciousness of community of the Chinese nation from two aspects:the integrity and internal diversity of the Chinese nation
