Yu Qingfeng's Huangmei Operas such as Jade Immortal,Xue Lang's Return,Beauty and other small theater dramas are adapted from historical stories and character substitutions by creatively transforming traditional art and expression forms,updating ancient concepts,and breaking through historical prejudices from three aspects:story adaptation,artistic expression,and meaning attribution.In addition to inheriting"tradition"in a rigid manner,they boldly broke through the form of traditional opera,and conducted important explorations under innovative and experimental guidance,their creative practices have shown people the possibility of innovative development of classical opera as a historical and cultural resource in the new era.
