A Research on the Lexical Features of Sino-Korean Vocabulary Based on the 15th Century Korean Literature Dusieonhae
Since the creation of Hunminjeongeum,a large number of Chinese historical documents have been translated into Korean,hence enriching the reservoir of historical documents written in the Korean script and providing substantial data for subsequent researches on the Korean language and script.Dusieonhae,the Korean version of the poetry collection by the great Chinese poet Du Fu of the Tang dynasty,is an invaluable literature of Chinese poems rendered into Korean.The first edition of Dusieonhae was published in 1481(the twelfth year of the Chengzong Reign)and was republished in 1632(the tenth year of the Renzu Reign),more than 150 years later.Dusieonhae involves a wide range of historical literature vocabulary,and is a precious material indispensable for the study of Korean vocabulary as well as for the history of the linguistic and cultural relationship between China and the Korean peninsula.This article focuses on the Sino-Korean vocabulary involved in Dusieonhae,and attempts to discuss and analyze the lexical features of Sino-Korean vocabulary in terms of distribution of lexical categories,word formation types and formation of hybrid words,aiming to delve into the development and changes of Sino-Korean vocabulary,an important component of the Korean lexical system.
