A Comparative Study on Voice Morphology of Hezhen and Ewenki Verbs
Hezhen and Ewenki are two languages of the Tungusic sub-branch of the Manchu-Tungusic language branch of the Altaic language family.The two languages share many similarities in phonology,vocabulary and grammar.They both have rich verbal morphology,among which the morphological forms of voice are the most prominent and complex.In this paper,we make a systematic comparative study on the number of members,structural forms and rules of use of the voice morphology of verbs in the Hezhen and Ewenki languages.We point out that there are both relatedness and differences in voice morphology of Hezhen and Ewenki verbs.
