Constructions and Usage of Complex Sentences in Tangut
Based on various Tangut corpus,we systematically discuss the sentence structures and usage of complex sentences in Tangut,and further analyze some new sentence structures and clausal linkers which are not mentioned ever before in previous studies.In this paper,we classify the Tangut complex sentences into three sub-classes:the coordinate,causal and transitional.The coordinate complex sentence includes coordinate sentences,continuous sentences,progressive sentences and alternative sentences;the causal complex sentence includes causal sentences,hypothetical sentences,and hypothetico-conditional sentences;and the transitional complex sentence includes transitional sentences and concessive sentences.
