Teaching Orientation and Student-centered Instruction:A Dialogue with Renowned Teachers
This article tried to explore approaches to implement student-centered teaching,coordinate teaching and research,and foster efficient instruction in universities through evaluation reform in a dialogue with Liu Zhentian and Du Ni,renowned professors of Xiamen University.It concluded that student-centered teaching is multi-layered and reflected in the meticulous teaching process,and that teaching and research are interacted in the sense that research-based instructions can help achieve high perspective teaching,thereby leading students to the forefront of knowledge.It thus recommended that teaching evaluation policies need to be modified to expand the autonomous right of peers,departments and universities'independent evaluation,and to establish a teaching-focused climate and a quality culture to engage teachers in instructions.
