An Exploration of Natural View on Children's Education from the Perspective of Chinese and Western Natural Philosophies
Constructing a scientific perspective on children and childhood education is a prerequisite for comprehending and fostering children's all-round development.It requires exploring the approaches from the perspective of natural philosophy.The disparities in philosophical views on nature result in different ideas on natural education in China and the West.This paper comparatively looked at Chinese and Western thoughts on natural education to integrate the concepts of"nature"from the traditional Chinese culture with Western natural educational thoughts in an attempt to construct the philosophical paradigms of local vitality and rationality on children's natural education for the Chinese children's sound development.It clarified the relationship between children and nature,recommending a natural approach to appropriately cope with children in the innate state as a fundamental requirement to help children reconnect with education and life and to dissolve the current utilitarianism of children's education.It is a conscious response to defining the"good education"that aligns with the natural inclinations of Chinese children.
