许少峰是一位自学成才的辞书编纂专家,一生经历坎坷,编著颇丰.他离世之前完成修订工作的《近代汉语大词典》增订本,增加条目4120条,在义项、例句、注音、字形、释义、排序等方面也多有改正,总体质量有明显提高.由于种种原因,该词典也存在一些缺憾,主要是有些条目释义不够精确.
Abstract
Xu Shaofeng was a self-educated dictionary compiler,who had a rough life but compiled many voluminous works.Before his death,he completed the revision of the updated version of Great Early Modern Chinese Dictionary,adding 4,120 entries,and making many corrections in terms of meaning,example sentences,pronunciation,character shapes,interpretation,and ordering,which significantly improved the overall quality.However,the dictionary also has some shortcomings,mainly because some entries are not precise enough.
