传教士汉学作为西方汉学史上的一个关键阶段,对西方专业汉学的发展起到了承上启下的重要作用.然而学术界尚未对传教士汉学的诸多基本问题加以厘清.传教士汉学不仅与基督教在中国的传播历史紧密相连,而且其学术成果在西方文化界产生了深远影响.传教士汉学的发展经历了两个主要阶段:1500-1800年的初识与和平交往期,以及1807-1949年的紧张与冲突期.传教士汉学对西方中国观的形成具有决定性影响,其研究成果不仅属于中国历史,也是欧洲历史的一部分,对于中西文化交流具有重要意义.
Abstract
Missionary Sinology,as a crucial phase in the history of Western Sinology,played a pivotal role in bridging the development of professional Sinology in the West.However,many fundamental issues regarding missionary Sinology have yet not been clarified in academic community.Not only closely connected with the history of the spread of Christianity in China,missionary Sinology also has a profound impact on Western cultural circles with its academic achievements.The development of missionary Sinology can be divided into two main phases:the period of initial acquaintance and peaceful interaction from 1500 to 1800,and the period of tense and conflict from 1807 to 1949.Missionary Sinology had a decisive influence on the formation of the Western perception of China.Its research outcomes are part of both Chinese and European history,holding significant value for the cultural exchange between China and the West.
