This paper comprehensively reviews the application of inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS)technology in the analysis and monitoring of soil heavy metal pollution.Firstly,the principle,development background and main characteristics of ICP-MS technology are introduced,and then the application and innovative application of heavy metal content detection in soil,pollution risk assessment and environmental management are discussed in detail.Furthermore,this paper discusses the limitations of current technology and prospects the future direction of ICP-MS technology.This review aims to provide environmental scientists and policy makers with in-depth insights into the application of ICP-MS technologies and to drive their broader use in environmental management and conservation.
