This paper used comparative analysis and the SFA-Malmquist method to calculate and decompose the total factor productivity of watermelon and muskmelon,which compared and analyzed the changes of input elasticity,technical efficiency,technological progress,and total factor productivity of Turpan from different perspectives.The cost-benefit panel data of Turpan's watermelon and muskmelon from 2009 to 2019 were used as the foundation for this research.The results demonstrated that the Turpan's watermelon and muskmelon production in Xinjiang has"low cost,low yield,and high yield"characteristics.Turpan's labor productivity was greater than that of Xinjiang by 1.78%and 8.29%,while watermelon's labor input and productivity were both higher than those of muskmelon's.The labor input of watermelon and muskmelon in Turpan was lower than the general level of Xinjiang.Indicating that Turpan's watermelon and muskmelon production is labor-intensive,the proportion of labor input is rising while the proportions of capital and land input are declining.The technical efficiency of watermelon and muskmelon production in Turpan dropped as technological progress grew,total factor productivity demonstrated the growth mode fostered by"technological progress."
