Opportunities, challenges, and strategies in developing athletes'competitive abilities based on new technology
New technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality, wearable smart sports equipment, and arti-ficial intelligence have brought tremendous opportunities for the development of athletes'competitive abilities, but they also pose serious challenges. These technologies offer athletes immersive training scenarios and experiences close to real competitions by superimposing virtual information in virtual and real environments, monitoring and ana-lyzing relevant data, and formulating personalized training plans based on artificial intelligence. They provide reliable biological data and sports performance metrics as well as objective and efficient training plans, playing a significant role in the development of athletes'competitive abilities. However, the use of new technologies might lead to de-pendency on technology, trigger privacy breaches, and raise ethical issues. Therefore, this paper proposes strategies from three aspects:the organic integration of new technologies with traditional training methods,people-oriented training philosophy, and standardized use of data. These strategies aim to effectively utilize new technologies to in enhance and comprehensively develop athletes'competitive abilities.
