From 2014 to 2017,the Jiangxi Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archeology teamed up with a number of units to carry out the special scientific research project"Archaeological Survey of Pre-Qin Sites in the Fuhe River Basin".This survey discovered 337 new sites from the Pre-Qin period, including 100 ring trench sites. The large number of newly discovered sites, their rich forms, their good preservation status, and their clear settlement structures are the first of their kind in Jiangxi, greatly exceeding previous academic knowledge. In order to better clarify the distribution, cultural nature and functional layout of the settlement form of the Huanhao site, and to explore its status and role in the pluralistic integration of Chinese civilization, with the approval of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage(Kaozhizi[2017]No.238),in 2017 we selected the representative Guodishan Huanhao site in Yihuang County to carry out archaeological exploration and excavation work.
