Based on the classification of cultural factors, this paper explores the resource utilization and technology choices of pottery with different cultural styles in the Panlongcheng Site, through chemical element detection and petrographic microscopic observation. The paper argues that the pottery with typical Central Plains cultural style and a large number of pottery with local cultural style in the Panlongcheng site exhibit similarities in terms of stable trace element composition and petrographic microstructure.Meanwhile, there are significant differences in the stable trace element composition between those pottery in the Panlongcheng Site and that in the Zhengzhou Shangcheng site and the Xiaoshuangqiao site in the Central Plains, suggesting that their production should be within the local pottery production system. The small amount of pottery with cultural styles from surrounding areas unearthed in the Panlongcheng site, represented by Di,shows differences in petrographic microstructure compared to other pottery, indicating a unique technique for the treatment of clay.In addition, there are great differences in resource acquisition and technology choices between the tamped hard pottery\proto-porcelain to the other ordinary pottery in the Panlongcheng site, indicating those could be the possibility of external input.
