As an eastern metropolis from Zhou dynasty to Han Dynasty,the water supply and drainage system of Linzi,the capital of Qi state,was an important guarantee for urban life and production.The purpose of this paper is through the archaeological survey combined with archaeological excavations and geographical documents to found a new discovery about water supply systems based on previous drainage studie and proved that the water source of the city drainage system and the moat of Linzi came from a man-made river channel built on the upper reaches of the South Zi River.I also have a new understanding of the drainage system at the same time.Strengthening the study of water supply and drainage system can not only reveal the construction background and design concept of qi ancient City,but also expand the field of vision of qi ancient city archaeology and Qi culture research.
