Hunting activities during the Tang dynasty appear frequently in poetic texts,pottery figurines and murals.Documentary and visual sources have the advantage of being self-evident and often take precedence in research.While Animal bones as physical remains,haven't received the attention they deserve,and are often neglected due to a lack of analysis of the archaeological context.This paper takes an animal ecology perspective and combines it with the socio-cultural context to reveal the enthusiasm for safari activities at then based on the bones of raptors buried in the Tang tombs of Guyuan.
