Over the past fifty years,world-systems theory has evolved into an inclusive analytical framework.Although originally developed to explain the emergence and development of modern capitalism, this theory also possesses significant explanatory power in the field of archaeology, particularly in the analysis of long-term historical processes. In general, the dual concepts of core and periphery within world-systems analysis, along with their dynamic interactions, offer valuable insights for understanding cultural interactions and the rise and fall of civilizations in prehistoric archaeology.Notably, the emphasis on the economic dimension holds considerable interpretive and applicative potential for archaeological research grounded in the analysis of material culture.
