Archaeological site museums are a significant part of China's museum system.This analysis of the current state of archaeological site museums reveals several issues:they are relatively few,unevenly distributed geographically,have an unequal distribution of collection resources,and suffer from severe"hollowing out"of their collections.To address these problems,it is necessary to expedite the construction of national key thematic museums,promote joint efforts between research institutions and site museums,and enhance research and interpretation efforts to bring cultural relics to life.Timely correction and improvement of existing development issues can drive the sustainable and healthy growth of archaeological site museums,thereby enhancing their role in the inheritance and development of Chinese civilization.
