In recent years,research on the Kongzi Yijing excavated from the tomb of Liu He,the Marquis of Haihun,has mostly centered on Confucianism.However,this object is also of great significance in exploring the shift in the concept of life and death in Han Dynasty society,and the manifestation of this shift in burial practices.Kongzi Yijing is not only a self-motivational object for Liu He,but also reflects that tombs became places for continuing life after death during the Han Dynasty,symbolizing the pursuit of peace and happiness for the soul.By analyzing its material nature,placement and details of its appearance,we can reveal its role in warding off evil spirits and comforting the soul,which helps us to understand how people in the Han Dynasty sought psychological comfort and spiritual support in the predicament of real life.
