From March to July 2024,the National Centre for Archaeology chose 6 sites to carry out an excavation by regions on the Guanyinge kiln site,Jingdezhen City.TG7,one of the 6 sites,is located in the southern part of the kiln site. This excavation revealed a number of concentrated remains of porcelain workshops of the middle and late Ming Dynasty,as well as some undisturbed kiln wastes strata of the Southern Song and Yuan Dynasties.Large amounts of varied categories of porcelain, kiln tools and other kiln remains with distinctive characteristics have been dug out.For the first time, these discoveries verified the fact that Guanyinge kiln site's southern region could date back to the Southern Song Dynasty. This archaeological excavation has provided substantial evidence for a better understanding of the production features and historical changes of the kiln industry from the Southern Song Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty.
