Suyang site is a central settlement in the middle reaches of the Luo River, consists of Suyang and Xiacun area.According to the excavated pottery,in the late Yangshao period, the site was strongly influenced by the Qujialing culture. The analysis of the plant remains in 2019 reveals the changes in agriculture in the context of cultural exchanges, with clear manifestations especially in crop assemblages. As a whole, the agricultural structure of Suyang site was formed in the late Yangshao period with rice as the main crop, and tInfluence of neighboring cultures was the main driving force. With the development of the Miaodigou Ⅱ culture in the area, the crop structure shifted to millet agriculture. In the Wangwan Ⅲ culture, the traditional culture of the Central Plains flourished in the area, and the crop structure of Suyang site returned to the traditional mode of millet agriculture. The differences in crop structure between the Xiacun and Suyang areas show that factors such as the population, cultural tradition, and geographic environment may have impacted the regional crop structure.
