From December 1984 to October 1985,the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology,in conjunction with Guanghan County Cultural center,carried out the fourth salvage excavation since the 1980s on the northeast side of the remaining mound of Sanxingdui site,and found a large number of pottery and stone artifacts,including stone ornaments(zhang),stone frogs,and stone discs(bi)belonging to the Sanxingdui culture.The excavation confirmed that the three earth mounds at the Yuanjiayuan small town are artificial city wall remains,known as the Yuanjiayuan city wall,and basically confirm the nature,age and construction mode of YuanJiayuan city wall.
