In 2011,the Jiangxi Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology conducted a comprehensive and systematic archaeological investigation surrounding 5 square kilometers of the tomb of Haihun Marquis of the Western Han Dynasty in Nanchang guided by the concept of settlement archaeology before excavating the tomb and discovered a series of important relics of the Haihun Marquis State centered around the Zijin City site,the cemeteries(earthen-walled cemeteries)of multiple generations of Haihun Marquis,the aristocratic and civilian cemeteries.In 2015,through the further archaeological reconnaissance,the overall layout,attribute and connotation as well as chronological sequence of the Zijin City site and the Han tombs around it were basically recognized,which provides detailed basic information for the scientific protection of the Haihun Marquis State site.
