This study delves into the local chronicles of Jingdezhen City in Jiangxi Province,China,revealing its rich history of ceramics and the evolution of its administrative divisions.Jingdezhen,historically renowned as a ceramics center,originated from Xinping Town in the Eastern Jin Dynasty,was named during the Northern Song Dynasty's Jingde period,and has evolved into a modern independent city.The paper focuses on the analysis of local chronicles such as The Chronicles of Raozhou Prefecture,The Chronicles of Poyang County,and The Chronicles of Fuliang County.These documents record the history of regional establishment and development in economy,culture,and society.The research indicates that local chronicles play a key role in preserving history,aiding policy-making,and cultural heritage,providing valuable information resources for historians and policymakers,and also offering new perspectives on the study of Jingdezhen and the history of Chinese ceramics.
