Geochemical Characteristics and Petrogenesis of the Suanjingzi Granites in Beishan,Gansu Province and Implications for Geological Disposal of High-Level Radioactive Wastes(HLWs)
Beishan is an important part of the Central Asian orogenic belt, where a lot of granites are developed. Many geochemical studies have been carried out on the Beishan granites, but few of them are combined with the geological disposal of high-level radioactive wastes(HLWs).In this paper, the rock types of Haerteerdele,Haergentouk-oubu and Suanjingzi granites are analyzed. Then this study takes Suanjingzi granite as an example to analyze its petrogenesis, and discusses the implications of petrogenesis on the geological disposal of HLWs.The main understandings are listed as follows:1)Haerteer-dele granite is A-type granite and Nanling-type granite;Haergentoukoubu granite is A-type granite and Zhemin-type granite;Suanjingzi granite is undifferentiatedⅠ-type granite and Adak-type granite.2)The Fe3+/Fe2+ratio of the surrounding rock of the repository may have important significance for the geological disposal of HLWs.3)Suanjingzi granite be-longs to Adakic origin, but the metallogenic potential is weak, even can not be metallo-genic;thus,this area is considered as a geological disposal repository site of HLWs,in line with the economic principle.4)Suanjingzi granite, which contains high volume of bi-otite,plays an important role in the retardation of radionuclides, and facilatates the geolog-ical disposal of HLWs.
