Predictive value of triglyceride glucose index for NAFLD in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Aim To explore the predictive value of triglyceride glucose index(TyG)on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods 306 patients with T2DM were selected and divided into Q1 group(n=78),Q2 group(n=55),Q3 group(n=89)and Q4 group(n=84)according to the TyG quartile. The general data and biochemical indexes of patients were compared. After 2 years of follow-up,liver color doppler ultrasound was performed compare the incidence of NAFLD among different groups, analyze the risk factors for NAFLD in T2DM patients, and evaluate the predictive val-ue of TyG for NAFLD occurrence. Results From group Q1 to group Q4,the patients'serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol gradually decreased, and the incidence of blood pressure, fasting blood glucose,glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase,glutamic-pyruvic transaminase,γ-glutamyl transpeptidase, uric acid, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, total cholesterol, triglycerides, glycosylated hemoglobin,TyG and NAFLD gradually increased(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that the higher TyG was associated with the higher the risk of NAFLD(P<0.05).TyG has a good predictive value for NAFLD in T2DM patients(P<0.05).Con-clusion TyG can effectively predict the occurrence of NAFLD in T2DM patients, which is suitable for clinical application.
