Relationship between gene polymorphisms of insulin-like growth factor 2 binding protein and gestational diabetes mellitus
Aim To analyze the relationship between gene polymorphisms of insulin-like growth factor 2 binding protein(IGF2BP)and gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).Methods A total of 84 patients with GDM and 84 healthy pregnant women were enrolled as GDM group and control group, respectively. The general data in both groups were collected. The polymorphisms of IGF2BP2 gene at rs4402960,rs1470579 and rs11705701 loci were detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction-restricted fragment length polymorphism. Results The levels of total cholesterol, fasting blood glucose and fasting insulin in GDM group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).Compared with control group,GG genotype at rs4402960 locus was fewer,TT genotype was more, gene frequency of allele T was higher, and gene frequency of allele G was lower in GDM group(P<0.05).Compared with control group, frequency of allele A at rs11705701 locus was lower, whereas frequency of allele G was higher in GDM group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in frequencies of the other genotypes and genes between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The polymorphisms of IGF2BP2 gene are correlated with the occurrence of GDM.The high-risk population with GDM can be evaluated and screened out by the results of gene polymorphisms to improve control effect on GDM.
