Serum markers for primary liver cancer:opportunities and challenges
The current conventional screening method for primary liver cancer is alpha-fetoprotein combined with abdominal ul-trasound,but its sensitivity and specificity are severely insufficient to meet the needs of early diagnosis of primary liver cancer.This article summarizes the traditional markers and emerging serum markers of hepatocellular carcinoma,and focus on aldo-keto reductase 1 B10,a novel serum marker of primary liver cancer with great potential for early diagnosis,a promising serum marker for hepatocellular carcinoma,in order to bring new ideas for early diagnosis of primary liver cancer.
