Expression of RNF43 mRNA and VEGF in patients with gastric cancer and the clinical signif-icance
Aim To investigate the expression of RNF43 mRNA and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in patients with gastric cancer and its clinical significance. Methods 105 patients with gastric cancer were selected as research objects to de-tect the relative expression of RNF43 mRNA in peripheral blood and the expression level of VEGF protein in gastric cancer sections. The expression levels of RNF43 mRNA and VEGF protein in different clinicopathological patients were compared, and Logistic regres-sion analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to explore the relationship between VEGF and RNF43 and clinicopatho-logic indicators in patients with gastric cancer. Results The VEGF protein expression levels were significantly different in patients with different vascular invasion, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage(P<0.05).Logistic analysis showed that vascular invasion, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage Ⅳ were independent risk factors for positive expression of VEGF protein in gastric cancer pa-tients(P<0.05).There were lower RNF43 mRNA relative expression levels in patients with vascular invasion, lymph node metasta-sis,histological type, serous infiltration, and high TNM stage(P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that vascular invasion, lymph node metastasis, serous infiltration, undifferentiated type and TNM Ⅲ,Ⅳ stage were the factors affecting the relative expression level of RNF43 mRNA(P<0.05).Conclusion The low expression of RNF43 mRNA in peripheral blood of patients with gastric cancer and positive VEGF protein in gastric cancer tissues are related to the progression of the disease in patients with gas-tric cancer, which can be used to assist the clinical diagnosis and evaluation of therapeutic effect of gastric cancer.
