Correlation and predictive value of peripheral blood SII and LMR with the severity of pre-eclampsia
Aim To investigate the Systemic Immune-inflammation Index(SII)and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio in periph-eral blood Correlation and predictive value of ratio(LMR)with severity of preeclampsia. Methods A total of 102 pregnant women with preeclampsia were included in the study, with 58 cases classified as mild preeclampsia in the mild group and 44 cases clas-sified as severe preeclampsia in the severe group.Additionally,50 healthy pregnant women undergoing routine examination during the same period were selected as the control group. The monocyte count was measured by microscopical counting method, the lymphocyte count was measured by automatic blood routine detector, and the LMR was calculated.Neutrophil count, platelet count and lympho-cyte count were measured by automatic blood routine detector, and SII was calculated. The levels of SII and LMR in peripheral blood were compared among all groups.Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between SII and LMR and the severity of preeclampsia, and receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC curve)was used to evaluate the value of serum SII and LMR alone and in combination in the diagnosis of preeclampsia. Results The serum SII levels in the mild and severe groups were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The serum LMR levels in the mild and severe groups were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05)and the serum SII levels were higher and the serum LMR levels were lower in the severe group compared to the mild group(P<0.05).The blood pressure levels in the mild and severe groups were higher than those in the control group, and the blood pres-sure levels in the severe group were higher than those in the mild group(P<0.05).Serum SII was positively correlated with pre-eclampsia,while serum LMR was negatively correlated with preeclampsia(P<0.05).The sensitivity and specificity of SII in diagno-sing preeclampsia were 70.59%and 59.05%,respectively.The sensitivity and specificity of LMR in the diagnosis of preeclampsia were 76.47%and 40.16%,respectively.The sensitivity and specificity of SII+LMR were 93.14%and 31.49%respectively.The AUC of SII,LMR and SII+LMR in the diagnosis of preeclampsia were 0.940,0.960,and 0.970.Conclusions Peripheral blood SII is positively correlated with the severity of preeclampsia patients, while LMR is negatively correlated with the severity of preeclamp-sia patients. The combination of the two has high sensitivity for the diagnosis of preeclampsia, and has certain predictive value for the occurrence of preeclampsia.
