Expression levels and clinical significance of EGFR,PRDX4 and GLUT-1 in oral squamous cell carcinoma tissues
Aim To study the expression levels and clinical significance of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR),per-oxiredoxin 4(PRDX4)and glucose transporter-1(GLUT-1)in oral squamous cell carcinoma tissues. Methods 74 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)were selected. The mRNA and protein expression levels of EGFR,PRDX4 and GLUT-1 in cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues were compared, and the correlation among the expression levels of the three indicators as well as the relationship with pathological characteristics and survival time of OSCC patients were analyzed. Results The mRNA expression and protein positive expression rate levels of EGFR,PRDX4 and GLUT-1 in OSCC cancer tissues were higher than those in adjacent normal tissues(P<0.05).The expression levels of EGFR,PRDX4,and GLUT-1 in OSCC tissues were positively correlated with each other(P<0.001).The positive expression rates of EGFR,PRDX4 and GLUT-1 were higher in patients with low differentiation degree, lymph node metastasis and stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ(P<0.05).The overall survival rate of patients with positive expres-sions of EGFR,PRDX4 and GLUT-1 was significantly lower than that of patients with negative expressions(P<0.05).Conclu-sion The expression levels of EGFR,PRDX4 and GLUT-1 in OSCC tissues are significantly increased, and are closely related to clin-icopathological parameters and survival time of patients, which may be involved in the occurrence and development of OSCC.
