Relationship between CLCA2 expression and clinicopathologic features as well as prognosis of cervical cancer
Aim To investigate the relationship between the expression of calcium-activated chloride channel 2(CLCA2)and clinicopathologic features as well as prognosis of cervical cancer. Methods Clinical data of 97 patients with cervical cancer were collected to analyze the expression of CLCA2 in cancer and adjacent tissues and the relationship between CLCA2 expression and clinico-pathological features. The patients were followed-up for 3 years, and the relationship between CLCA2 expression and prognosis was ex-plored by using survival analysis and Cox regression analysis. Results The negative expression rate of CLCA2 in cervical cancer tis-sues was higher than that in adjacent tissues(P<0.05).The proportion of patients with BMI≥30 kg/m2,lymph node metastasis, low differentiation degree and>1/2 muscle infiltration degree in CLCA2-negative group was higher than that in CLCA2-positive group(P<0.05).There was a difference in the 3-year cumulative survival rate between the two patients(P<0.05).Cox analysis showed that TNM stage Ⅲ,lymph node metastasis,>1/2 muscle infiltration and CLCA2 negative were independent risk factors for cervical cancer prognosis(P<0.05).Conclusion CLCA2 is downregulated in cervical cancer tissue, and the expression of CLCA2 is correlated with BMI,lymph node metastasis, degree of invasion and prognosis. The patients with high expression have better prognosis.
