The relationship between serum 8-OHdG,T-cad and the severity of illness and outcome of patients with acute pancreatitis
Aim To investigate the relationship between serum 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine(8-OHdG),T-cadherin(T-cad)and the severity and prognosis of patients with acute pancreatitis(AP).Methods A total of 88 patients with AP were selected and divided into mild disease group and severe disease group according to the severity of the disease. They were also divided into poor prognosis group and good prognosis group according to the prognosis. In addition,60 healthy people were selected as the control group. The serum levels of 8-OHdG and T-cad and Ranson score were compared. The relationship between serum 8-OHdG,T-cad and Ranson score, the prognostic value of serum 8-OHdG and T-cad in patients with AP,as well as the influencing factors of prognosis in patients with AP,were analyzed. Results The level of 8-OHdG and Ranson score was in an order of severe group>mild group>control group, and the poor prognosis was in an order of group>good prognosis group. The order of T-cad level was severe group<mild group<control group, and poor prognosis group<good prognosis group(P<0.05).8-OHdG was positively correlated with Ranson score, while T-cad was negatively correlated with Ranson score(P<0.05).Admission Ranson score,8-OHdG and T-cad were risk factors for the prognosis of AP patients(P<0.001).The combination of serum 8-OHdG and T-cad had the highest efficacy in predic-ting the prognosis of patients with AP(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum 8-OHdG and T-cad in patients with acute pancreatitis are related to disease severity and prognosis, and are expected to be used as biological indicators to predict the prognosis of patients with a-cute pancreatitis.
