Effects of Yiqitongqiaoyin combined with glucocorticoid on chronic rhinosinusitis and its im-pact on mucosal tissue remodeling
Aim To observe the effects of Yiqitongqiaoyin combined with glucocorticoid on chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS)and its impact on mucosal tissue remodeling.Methods Seventy patients with CRS admitted to our hospital were selected as the research subjects and divided into a control group(treated with glucocorticoids)and an observation group(treated with Yiqitongqiaoyin on the basis of the control group)according to different treatment methods,with 35 cases in each group.The therapeutic effects of the two groups,as well as their traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,quality of life(SNOT-20 scale),objective symptoms(Lund-Kennedy and Lund-Mackay score),mucosal tissue remodeling indicators(nasal mucosal injury,basement membrane thickness,positive for transforming growth factor β1(TGF-β1)),nasal mucosal ciliary clearance function,eosinophil cationic protein(ECP),interferon gamma(IFN-γ),immunoglobulin E(IgE),and interleukin-6(IL-6)levels before and after treatment of the two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the parameters before treatment,the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score,SNOT-20 score,Lund-Kennedy score,Lund-Mackay score,basement membrane thickness,number of TGF-β1 positive cells,and levels of ECP,IFN-γ,IgE,and IL-6 in both groups were decreased after treatment,and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).The proportion of nasal mucosal injury(grade 0-1),nasal mucosal clearance rate,and clearance speed were increased,and the obser-vation group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of Yiqitongqiaoyin combined with glu-cocorticoid has a good therapeutic effect on CRS,which helps to inhibit mucosal tissue remodeling,improve patients'syndrome,quality of life,and clinical symptoms,restore nasal mucosal ciliary clearance function,and reduce inflammation and ECP levels in patients.
