Short-term prognostic value of chest RSI in children with human parainfluenza virus-associ-ated lower respiratory tract infection
Aim To investigate the short-term prognostic value of chest radiological severity index(RSI)in children with human parainfluenza virus(HPIV)-related lower respiratory tract infections(LRTI).Methods A total of 80 children with HPIV-related LRTI were retrospectively collected and divided into poor prognosis group(n=21)and good prognosis group(n=59)according to the short-term(7 days)prognosis.C-reactive protein(CRP),neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR),RSI were com-pared between the two groups. The influencing factors of poor prognosis and the predictive effects of CRP,NLR and RSI on poor prognosis were analyzed. Results Compared with the good prognosis group,CRP increased,NLR decreased, and RSI score in-creased in the poor prognosis group(P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that RSI score was positively correlated with CRP and negatively correlated with NLR(P<0.001).CRP,NLR and RSI were independent influencing factors of poor short-term prognosis in children(P<0.05).The results of ROC analysis showed that RSI,CRP and NLR had predictive value for the short-term prognosis of children, and the predictive efficacy was the highest when the three indexes were combined(P<0.05).Conclusion RSI has a certain predictive value on the short-term prognosis of children with HPIV-related LRTI,and its application value can be improved by combining it with hematological indicators.
