Clinical significance of Hcy level for the occurrence and rupture of intracranial aneurysms
Aim To analyze clinical significance of serum homocysteine(Hey)level for the occurrence and rupture of in-tracranial aneurysms. Methods 157 cases of intracranial aneurysms in our hospital were selected as the intracranial aneurysms group, and they were divided into 95 non-rupture group and 62 rupture group according to whether or not intracranial aneurysms rup-tured.In addition,79 eligible cases of vertigo syndrome and arteriovenous malformation were selected as the control group.Clinical data between the control group and the intracranial aneurysms group, and the Hcy level and diameter of intracranial aneurysms in non-ruptured and ruptured group were compared. The risk factors for the occurrence of intracranial aneurysms were analyzed by using Lo-gistic regression. The correlation between Hcy and intracranial aneurysms diameter was analyzed by Sperman's correlation.Re-sults There were significant differences in age, proportion of hypertension, atherosclerosis, smoking and Hcy level between control group and intracranial aneurysms group(P<0.05).Compared with the non-ruptured group, the Hcy level in the ruptured group was significantly decreased(P<0.001),while the intracranial aneurysms diameter was significantly increased(P<0.001).Logistic re-gression analysis showed that Hcy was a risk factor for the formation of intracranial aneurysms(P<0.05).There was no correlation between Hcy level and intracranial aneurysms diameter(P>0.05).Conclusion Hcy is an independent risk factor for the forma-tion of intracranial aneurysms, but it is not correlated with the rupture of intracranial aneurysms.
